Case Study.

A reputation for no-nonsense delivery.

Pareto FM

The Challenge.

Having heard of our reputation for no-nonsense delivery, as a new client, Pareto FM approached PEMCO in early December 2020. Pareto FM had just secured a significant contract with a new international client and needed to produce 85 detailed risk assessments suitable for embedding into the working practices of the new contract.

The risk assessments were related to work activities to be undertaken by Pareto FM’s skilled team of mechanical and electrical mobile and site-based technicians working at the client’s sites across the United Kingdom. To add to the challenge, the deadline for completion of all 85 risk assessments was 31st December, with no room for negotiation. Failure to deliver was not an option.

The Solution.

PEMCO worked hand-in-hand with the Pareto FM’s senior management team, firstly to fully understand the brief and then to offer a range of alternative writing styles for the new risk assessments. Following a collaborative planning workshop, it was decided that clarity and ease of understanding by the busy technicians was key, with a preference for graphics, icons and step-by-step workflows, rather than the more traditional lengthy narrative text.

A sample of three risk assessments were produced in the agreed style and approval sought before progressing with production of the remaining assessments. An online portal was set up for each risk assessment to be uploaded to as it was written, and for Pareto FM to be able to review, provide feedback and download the assessments on demand.

The Result.

By rescheduling some other less urgent work and putting two members of the PEMCO team onto the project full-time for two weeks, the project was successfully completed 3 days ahead of schedule and the client was delighted with the end result. The icing on the cake is that Pareto FM is now an ongoing client of PEMCO.

What they said.

"I am very pleased with what has been achieved and the end client has not had any issue with any of the submissions. I also appreciate you delivering this within the timescales, something that was essential for us in this situation."
